Costs of arbitration calculator
The NAI offers a calculator to estimate the costs of arbitration proceedings on the merits. This cost estimate includes the NAI’s administration fees and the costs of the arbitral tribunal.
The costs of the arbitral tribunal are based on an hourly rate and the disbursements. The hourly rates of the arbitrators, binding advisers, and secretaries are below.
The administration fees in emergency arbitration amount to 50% of those in proceedings on the merits. The hourly rate is higher in summary proceedings than in proceedings on the merits, but because the proceedings are much shorter, the arbitrator’s fees are generally much lower.
You must enter a rounded amount for the monetary interest, without a decimal point or comma.
The cost calculator applies to proceedings commenced on or after 1 July 2025. No rights may be derived from the estimate of the arbitration costs based on the cost calculator.
NAI administration fees
The administration fees are calculated based on the monetary interest of the claims or counterclaims and Table A below, as adopted by the Executive Board. For emergency arbitrations, the administration fees amount to 50% of the calculated amount.

from | € | 250,000,000.- | € | 87,150 |
To calculate the NAI administration fees, the amounts calculated for each step in the graduated scale must be added together, except in the case where the total pecuniary interest of the claim is less than €25,000 or equals or exceeds €250 million, in which case a fixed amount of €2,500 or €87,150, respectively, covers the administration fees.
Sample calculation assuming a total monetary interest of € 137,520:
Up to € 25,000 = € 2,500
€ 25,000 – € 50,000: € 25,000.- * 4% = € 1,000
€ 50,000 – € 75,000: € 25,000.- * 2% = € 500
€ 75,000 – € 100,000: € 25,000.- *2% = € 500
€ 100,000 – € 137,520: € 37,520.- * 1% = € 375.20
Total = € 4,875.20
