Costs of mediation

The costs of NAI mediation consist of (i) administration fees and (ii) the mediator’s fee. Unless otherwise agreed, the costs of counsel, experts and other advisors engaged by a party shall be borne by that party.
The administration fees can be calculated by entering the estimated monetary interest of the claim in the calculator below. The mediator’s fee is based on an hourly rate, which depends on the financial interest and the time the mediator spends. How quickly parties reach a solution in mediation depends on various factors. Therefore, it isn’t easy to estimate the total costs of mediation.

Mediator’s fee

The NAI Secretariat will determine the appointed mediator’s hourly rate based on the monetary interest and the table below (the table can also be downloaded in PDF format). To guarantee payment of the mediator’s fee and costs, the parties must make a deposit before the first mediation session (see Article 9 of the NAI Mediation Rules).
