What is an authenticator app?
An authenticator app is an app used for extra security. It provides a second layer of protection in addition to your password. How exactly does it work? When you try logging in to the platform, enter your username and password. Then, the website asks for a code, which you receive via the authenticator app on your smartphone. This code changes every 30 seconds, making it difficult for someone else to access your account, even if they know your password. Popular authenticator apps include Microsoft Authenticator and Google Authenticator. These apps are free to download and easy to use. The platform’s manual provides step-by-step instructions on how to set up the authenticator app.
Can I no longer use email?
Parties can still use e-mail. The NAI arbitration platform is set up to use e-mail and upload procedural documents and decisions directly on the platform. All e-mail correspondence from a case is automatically saved by including the site e-mail address. The representatives and users must upload submissions, evidence, and decisions on the platform (this is not automatic). Information exchange via e-mail is a lot less secure than via the platform. We recommend users set up at least two-factor authentication on their e-mail address account.
How can I reset my password?
The platform manual explains step-by-step how to reset your password
I have lost my phone with the authenticator app, or my authenticator app code is not working. What now?
The NAI Secretariat can reset your account’s two-factor authentication. This allows you to reset an authenticator app (on a different phone or not) and generate new codes. Please send us an e-mail.
Can you explain more about the security measures of the NAI arbitration platform?
The NAI arbitration platform runs on HighQ, a leading global provider of secure digital solutions for the legal profession. It is used and trusted by more than 250 law firms, including some of the largest in the world. The system is ISO 27001 certified and has a SOC2 rating.
All files are kept in cloud-based storage in high-security facilities with separate backup facilities at another location. Both the primary and backup facilities are located in Germany. All data is encrypted with military-grade encryption, and all files are scanned for malware and viruses upon upload.
The system has numerous security systems, including two-factor authentication, a single encrypted HTTPS access point, web application firewalls, intrusion detection, log file monitoring, anti-virus, and code scanning technologies. The interface and settings are also designed to minimise the risk of human error compromising security or confidentiality.
HighQ regularly scans the system for vulnerabilities and subjects it to third-party penetration testing.
The platform uptime is 99.9%, and planned maintenance interruptions are scheduled to minimise user inconvenience.
HighQ adheres to high confidentiality standards and is contractually bound to confidentiality. It does not have access to files uploaded to the platform and cannot view or modify the list of persons with access to various sites without prior permission from the NAI.
